This film was commissioned by the National Museum of Iceland. It follows the story of a charismatic eleven-year-old disabled boy named Alexander and his parents, Steinunn and Palli. Alexander’s world is filled with many beautiful, emotional, and unexpected moments.

The film was made over many months in 2006 & 2007. It is in conjunction with a series of photographs that my wife, Mary Ellen Mark took during the same period.
(A selection of these photographs will be on exhibit at the 2010 Sprout Film Festival.)
