University of Texas student Duane Graves chronicles his charismatic childhood chum, Rene Moreno, a San Antonio native with Down Syndrome, in this playful, stirring, remarkably unique portrait documentary that garnered international press on the festival circuit after winning the National Media Award from the Down Syndrome Congress in 2002.

filmmaker: Duane Graves

After receiving a film degree from Texas A&M, Graves directed the critically-acclaimed feature documentary Up Syndrome, which won several awards at festivals around the world including Slamdance. His narrative feature debut The Wild Man of the Navidad premiered at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival and is to be released in 2009 by IFC Films.
