Playing
God is an animation about Sam. He is out walking when
a gunman shoots him dead. Sam flies up to heaven and he meets
God. God isn’t feeling very well so he asks Sam to take
over the job for a while. He now has the power to change historical
events but can he prevent his own death?
Sam
McIlmunn – writer, artist, director and animator
Sam,
a 14-year old with Asperger’s Syndrome, has been involved
with the Glasgow based disability arts organization, Project
Ability, for 3 years. He has been involved in a series of
art base workshops for young people with Autism Spectrum disorders.
Playing God is his first attempt at animation.
Iain Piercy - video artist
Iain has been working as video coordinator at Project Ability
in Scotland since 1997.
Project
Ability works with children and adults with learning disabilities,
people with mental health problems, and others who find it
difficult to access mainstream activities. Since 1984 they
have been promoting equality of access to the arts by supporting
people of all ages and abilities to take part in innovative
visual arts projects.
