My
Childhood Song
3 min. 15 sec. / visual poetry / 2002 / Finland
The basis of Hanna's film is the following poem which she has
written herself. Then she shot some beautiful scenery to match
it, creating a poem that can be experienced through moving images.
"When singing my childhood song I thought of nature, the
sun and angels. Then I wrote a poem which would live as a film."
At the beginning, Hanna sings a Finnish song, a rough translation
of which would be something like:
A child's path goes through a wilderness
But a wonderful angel takes her home.
So long is the way,
Home still far away.
But a wonderful angel
Walks by her side,
A wonderful angel
Walks by her side.
Hanna's poem
Once upon a time there was a forest,
a beautiful flower,
the sun so warm and
the breeze through the trees.
A small bird chirping
as it flies above the beach...
The sea, - golden waves.
Wind - beautiful dreams of
golden angels... golden on the beach.
The warmth of the trees,
heavenly sun, star.
