of the West Side tells the riveting and complex coming-of-age
story of Mark Puddington, a teenager with multiple disabilities
who is a local celebrity in his NYC neighborhood. As Mark prepares
for his religious rite-of-passage, a family and community must
consider his life away from home and his neighborhood.
Judd Ehrlich - producer/director
Judd collaborated on Ric Burns' acclaimed PBS series, New
York, and Macky Alston's Sundance-winning documentary, Family
Name. He curates films at the Brooklyn Academy of Music,
Brooklyn Museum of Art and JCC in Manhattan. For ten years,
Ehrlich worked as caregiver to Mark Puddington, a.k.a. "The
Mayor of the West Side."
