6 min. / Documentary / 2006 / USA

A documentary exploring the relationship between Ariana, an eleven-year old girl, and Marcello, her five-year old non-verbal autistic brother. Ariana’s story raises awareness not only about autism’s impact on the family, but also about a family’s need for societal support when struggling to maintain life with a disabled child.

Director: Christina Frenzel

Christina is currently a junior at the USC School of Cinema-Television. She had two documentaries air on HBO by age fifteen. As a sibling of a brother with autism she was compelled to produce The Third Parent applying her personal knowledge to make it as honest and informative as possible.
