Siblings is a touching look inside the world of those who have grown up with a sibling who has a developmental disability. This film explores the many challenges people face as part of growing up with a mentally challenged sibling, as well as the added responsibility that was thrust upon them at a very early age. The interviewees testify that they once had feelings of neglect, anger and jealously toward their mentally challenged siblings but have grown to become more patient and understanding and to love and accept them. “...I will always be a part of them and they’ll be a part of me.”

director: Paul McNeill
Soon after entering the Vancouver Film School, Paul was given the task of coming up with a documentary topic along with classmate Peter Eliuk. Paul and Peter decided to focus their search to the topics which they felt they were already experts in based on their life experiences. It was then that Siblings first became clear. Paul’s older brother Matthew, has a mental disability.

producer: Peter Eliuk
After leaving a career in pre-hospital health care, Peter attended the Vancouver Film School to pursue his dream in filmmaking.
