The Gillian Film is a moving portrait of an exceptional young woman who works at a local veterinary clinic, rides horses, takes dance classes, and is developmentally disabled. When Gillian decides to move out of the house, her mother must come to terms with letting go.

Joanne is a documentary filmmaker who teaches at UNC-Chapel Hill. She has recently completed a documentary about violence against women in Thailand called Men Are Human, Women are Buffalo. Recent films include Women in Japan: Memories of the Past, Dreams for the Future, and Nuestra Comunidad: Latinos in North Carolina.
